Caroline
Company Director & Practitioner
Caroline qualified as a psychiatric nurse in 1986. She has worked as a Mental Health Staff Nurse both in NHS hospitals and a private nursing home where she gained valuable experience. When her children were young she worked as a Domestic Cleaner with a client base of 5 regular customers with very different individual needs and requirements. Some customers also required a major ‘one-off’ clean to help get them back on the road to self-motivation. In 2000 Caroline joined Julian Housing Support Trust as a Mental Health Housing Support Worker, covering the Breckland area and South Norfolk. This role entailed supporting adults with severe and enduring mental ill health to live independently in their own homes in the community. In 2009 she was promoted to the role of Manager of the company’s Active Outreach Team. This was a Specialist Team which worked in partnership with the Mental Health NHS Trust and Norfolk County Council Social Services Team to provide a bespoke and intensive mental health support service to clients deemed ‘hard to engage’. From 2014 Caroline worked for Together for Mental Wellbeing in Norwich, managing a team of support workers to provide Housing Related Support to adults with mental health issues living independently in the community In 2016 she was employed by Norwich City Council in the role of Single Homeless and Rough Sleeper Coordinator. Throughout her working life Caroline has consistently recognised the need for a company who can provide a specialist cleaning and organising service to the client base she knows so well. She is now in a position to provide this service, in partnership with her son, Jacob.
Jake
Company Director & Practitioner
In 2007, Jacob started working for Julian Housing Support Trust. He was based at a residential unit for adults who needed additional support with independent living prior to accessing their own accommodation. His role was to keep the unit clean and sanitary whilst retaining an awareness of mental health issues and the additional needs and challenges faced by this client group. Following this initial role, Jacob was promoted to Relief Support Worker. He covered night shifts at three housing units for Service Users with mental health problems. Jacob gained invaluable experience in a holistic approach to client wellbeing. From Julian Housing Support Jacob went on to take up the role of Hotel Night Supervisor and Guest Care Manager at Mercure Hotel in Norwich. After several years of night working Jacob moved on to Thirty-One Fundraising where he worked as an Executive Fundraiser. Thirty-One is a fundraising agency in Norwich who call on behalf of Greenpeace, contacting petition signatories to provide campaign updates and, naturally, to raise funds. It can often be a challenging role, requiring the ability to think on one’s feet and possess an adaptability when speaking to people from all backgrounds.
